Deanna Romero, PA-C/MS is a Colorado Native with indigenous roots in the southwestern United States. A born healer, Deanna began her medicine journey as a child, caring for wounded and sick animals and helping her father to manage his back pain through massage and hands-on healing. Her strong desire to be of service to others led her to eventually become a Physicians Assistant (PA), graduating from the University of Colorado Health Science Center’s (UCHSC) Child Health Associate Program in 1980 and earning a Master’s Degree in Medical Science. Deanna has worked extensively in urban and rural community health clinics and on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
While pursuing her degree, Deanna recognized the limits of western medicine and began exploring alternative medicine and other holistic methods to treat the body, mind and spirit. Deanna began working with a local Curandera (traditional Mexican folk healer) who introduced her to the healing properties of essential oils, herbs, massage and spiritual and energetic healing methods. While studying essential oils, Deanna was introduced to a method of pain management called Neruroenergetic Release® (NER) Therapy, which she used to successfully treat her own chronic pain without the use of medication. NER is a manual, hands-on light touch therapy that facilitates a release of structural and soft-tissue imbalances, facilitates energy flow and helps the body realign on its own. Deanna went on to receive her NER certification in 2011 and still undergoes NER treatment a couple of times per year to keep herself balanced and pain free.
Deanna began practicing NER in 2005 and has been using NER to successfully treat a variety of problems, such as pain in the back, hips, legs and knees, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, infant torticollis, asthma and other soft tissue injuries. Deanna uses NER in conjunction with nutrition education, natural supplements and other energetic and spiritual healing techniques to provide a customized holistic healing program for each client.
